Forum Title: Remove casement window crank while window is closed?
Hi All, I'm planning on doing some plastic insulation on my windows, and I realized that the casement crank will be jutting out and potentially cause problems. First, for anyone who has used window insulator kits with these windows, does the crank complicate things? Second, if so, is it possible to remove the crank while the window is closed? Thank you! RJ

Welcome to the forums! For the door to swing inwards you need to make sure there is adequate clearance for the door to fully open. Sometimes there are physical reasons for the door to swing out, other times it's just personal preference. Security hinges aren't needed if it opens to the inside.

Terrific, thank you - I'll give it a try.

Make sure the set screw is still threaded up good - you don't want to loose any screws and have to hunt for a replacement.
